1.What is EPR?

EPR, which stands for Extended Producers Responsiblity, is an environmental policy that holds Producers responsible for the entire life cycle of the goods they put on the market, from the design of the goods to the end of the life cycle, including waste collection and disposal. According to the regulation of extended Producer responsibility, the subject of responsibility must reduce the impact of its commodity on the environment in the whole life cycle of the commodity. The EPR is actually a regulatory framework that is practiced by many legislations, not the name of a statute. The WEEE Directive, battery law, packaging law and other regulations of the European Union are equivalent to the legislative practice of the European Union and Germany. Therefore, France's WEEE, packaging law, battery law, textiles, paper, toys, furniture and Germany's WEEE, packaging law, battery law and other regulations belong to the scope of EPR, are the embodiment of EPR in this country.

In plain English, sellers selling into the EU would be obliged to recycle their products, rather than discarding them as they do in China. WEEE is for all the products that need electricity; The packaging method is for the internal and external packaging of products and fillers; The battery method is for all types of batteries.

2. EPR mandatory implementation time

WEEE: all electronic and electrical equipment products from January 1, 2023;

Packaging Method: All goods before July 1, 2022.

3. Consequences of not registering EPR

The product Listing was removed from the shelves, the goods were detained and even faced with fines.
